Advisors are practicing or retired professionals in a range of fields willing to share their expertise to support community environmental action

In response to client-identified needs, OETN advisors
  • sharpen the definition of the need and develop a plan of action to address it
  • provide advice and assistance for any phase of the project
  • (e.g., research, planning, implementation, evaluation, report writing)
  • coordinate post-secondary faculty and student engagement if appropriate
  • mentor and help evaluate student researchers

How do we match projects to advisors?

Community submits an application. Summaries of approved applications are shared via email with the advisor network. Advisors select the project(s) they wish to work on. Upon a successful match, advisors meet with the community organization, defining project expectations and timelines. Upon completion of the project advisors and community clients complete a short survey evaluating their experience working together.
