Bioacoustics Monitoring of Conservation Land
The Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT) wanted to take advantage of exciting developments in the emerging field of bioacoustics and soundscape ecology to improve their ability to provide responsible long term care of their properties. Ottawa Eco-Talent Network connected MMLT with an advisor and University of Ottawa students to conducted research on how to strengthen their bioacoustics methodology and protocols related to the collection and interpretation of the bioacoustics data. The OETN advisor provided MMLT with an initial assessment and connected them other potential partners. The students produced a report for MMLT.
