An advisor with expertise in the planning process advised Safe Wings on how to promote bird-friendly design for new and retrofit projects. For example, putting in place a system allowing volunteers to track development applications/building permits and know how to approach the right people (planning dept., building industry), ensuring that projects are bird-friendly. They also requested help positioning bird-friendly designs as a cost-neutral option that can enhance energy efficiency.
